The Estevan Bruins have announced a pair of trades that will see them add a player and also subtract one. The Bruins have shipped 1986 born forward Cole Pearson to the Powell River Kings of the BCHL for future considerations. Pearson split the 2004-05 season playing with both Weyburn and Estevan. He played a combined total of 32-games and scored two goals and had five assists. The 6'2" 180 lbs native of Courtney, British Columbia, will be moving closer to home so that his family can see him play more often. Meanwhile, Estevan has acquired 1986 born defenseman/forward Darnell Glass from the La Ronge Ice Wolves for a player to be named later.Ê Glass was sent by Notre Dame to La Ronge early last season and played most of the year at the Junior 'B' level. He did dress for five games with the Ice Wolves and went pointless. Glass is a versatile player who might be expected to play both forward and defense with the Bruins in 2005-06. Also, the Melfort Mustangs hope to have added some offense to their club with the acquisition of 1986 born left winger Eddie Samuels from the Victoria Salsa. Samuels, a 5'10" 185 lbs native of Las Vegas, Nevada, played 34-games with the BCHL club last season and scored two goals and added nine assists. Samuels is a close friend to Melfort forward Jeff Hajner, who is also a Las Vegas product.
