Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Flin Flon Bombers fell off their winning streak this past weekend after dropping two games in the SJHL showcase. In Weyburn, the Bombers hosted the Kindersley Klippers Saturday afternoon. Flin Flon led the Klippers 1-0 for the majority of the game, but lost 2-1 in overtime after giving up a late goal. After going into the weekend as the hottest team in the SJHL, the Bombers' recent record went from 7-0 to 7-1. The following afternoon was a struggle for the team as well as they lost by the same score to the Yorkton Terriers. Saturday afternoon was frustrating, said head coach and GM Mike Reagan, as the Bombers thought they would get the two points. With less than two minutes to go in the game, the Klippers tied things up. In overtime, the Bombers lost and only earned one point from the game. Sunday's game against the Terriers left the Bombers happy with their effort, but frustrated with the loss. "I was really happy with the way we played. We played the top team," said Reagan. "It could have gone either way.". Overall, the coach said he was pleased with the weekend, though there were some frustrating points. "We played hard not to win a game at the showcase," said Reagan. At the same time, the coach said the team was already looking to last night's game against the Humboldt Broncos. Already seeing the Broncos a number of times this season, the Bombers were feeling confident going in. As well, Flin Flon took the opportunity to watch two of Humboldt's games this weekend. "We're pretty familiar with them," said Reagan. "We feel confident going in, but (as) always, it's tough to play on the road." Reagan said last night was going to "be a big day for us." The Bombers are back on home ice this weekend as they host the Estevan Bruins in a double-header. Game one gets underway on Saturday with a matinee game Sunday afternoon.
