The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has released the 2005-06 regular season schedule. The preseason gets underway September 1st with the Flin Flon Bombers and La Ronge Ice Wolves going head to head. The regular season starts September 16th with 10 of the 12 teams in action.Ê The defending Credential Cup champion Yorkton Terriers will unveil their banner to the home fans on that night when they host the Weyburn Red Wings.Ê Incidentally, the Wings will raise their national championship (RBC Royal Bank Cup) banner the very next night when the Terriers return the favour in the home and home series. A rematch of the Credential Cup final between Yorkton and Battlefords will take place at September Showcase on September 24th.Ê More details with a major unveiling concerning September Showcase will be made at a later date. The regular season ends February 15th when Yorkton plays host to Notre Dame.Ê In all, each team will play 55-games (26 at home, 26 on the road, 3 at September Showcase).Ê If this year is any indication to previous recent years, every game will be important as positions are expected to be contested right up until the final day.
