The Melfort Mustangs have evened their best of seven series with the La Ronge Ice Wolves with a 5-4 overtime win on Wednesday. Nathan Brummitt scored the winner at 6:15 of the extra stanza, after Nick VanDenBeld tied the game with just 16 seconds left in regulation time. Jeremy Forbes, Jordan Boldt and Kurtis Astle had the other goals for Melfort. La Ronge got two goals from Cory Harder, and singles from Jeff Marshall and Doug Exner. Melfort out shot La Ronge 42-35, including 8-4 in overtime. After Tuesday night's action, the Estevan Bruins have a 3-0 lead over Humboldt with a 4-3 win. The Battlefords North Stars also lead the Kindersley Klippers 3-0, and Yorkton is one win away from eliminating the Notre Dame Hounds after a 3-0 win on Tuesday.
