The end is near in the 2009-10 SJHL regular season. The Flin Flon Bombers have six games left before the break and then playoffs begin. To finish out the regular season, the Maroon and White will host the Nipawin Hawks tomorrow night before welcoming to the Battlefords North Stars to the Whitney Forum for a double header weekend. Following this weekend's games, the Bombers have an entire week off to practice before hitting the road for La Ronge Ð where they face a double header weekend. The Bombers' final game of the 2009-10 regular season will come on Tuesday, February 23, against the always entertaining Melfort Mustangs. SJHL playoffs are scheduled to start February 26 with the Conference Elimination Series. As of Friday, that series would see the Humboldt Broncos and the Nipawin Hawks fight for the title in the Bauer Conference while the Sherwood Conference will have the Melville Millionaires and the Estevan Bruins fighting for their lives. The Conference semifinals, which are slated to start March 3, is a best of seven series seeing 1-4 and 2-3 face-off in each division. The Conference Championship is next for teams with the winner of each conference then moving on to fight for the Credit Union Cup. The Credit Union Cup series is scheduled to take place April 2, which leads to the ANAVET Cup Ð scheduled to start April 16. The Royal Bank Cup, which was hosted by Flin Flon in the 2000-01 season, will take place in Dauphin, MB, this season. There is more than just hockey on the agenda for the RBC this year as country star Charlie Major will be playing the night before the puck drops.
