Troy Smukowich, Yorkton Terriers 1989 F Troy Smukowich (Winnipeg MB) had a breakout week as he helped guide the Terriers to a Survivor Series victory over the Melville Millionaires and a 2-games-to-none lead over the Weyburn Red Wings in the Sherwood Conference semi-finals. Smukowich collected four goals and one assist in five games played. He has five goals and three assists in six games played overall in the postseason. Defenseman of the week Kurt Leedahl, Kindersley Klippers 1990 D Kurt Leedahl (Saskatoon SK) had three assists in the first two games of the Sherwood Conference semi-finals against the Notre Dame Hounds. He was also part of a blueline corps that completely shut the Hounds out in game one. Runners-up: Kirk Moore, La Ronge; Clark Byczynski, Yorkton; Mike Alexander, La Ronge. Goaltender of the week Adam Bartko, La Ronge Ice Wolves 1990 G Adam Bartko (Battlefords SK) continues his red hot playoff season as he picked up three more wins in a row last week to help the Ice Wolves complete a sweep of the Humboldt Broncos in the Bauer Conference Survivor Series and a big 2-0 series lead over the Flin Flon Bombers in the Bauer Conference semis. Bartko went 3-and-0 for the week with a 1.33-GAA and a sparkling .966-SPCT. Runners-up: Josh Thorimbert, Kindersley; Devin Peters, Yorkton; Chris Ward, Melfort.
