Player of the Week Winner: Travis Janke, Notre Dame Hounds 1989 F Travis Janke (Swift Current SK) scored a goal in each of the four games he played last and led all SJHL players with seven points. Janke upped his overall season totals to 14 goals and 16 assists in 28 games. The three year Hound now leads the team in scoring and has proven to be more than just a big special teams player as he has 12 even strength goals. Defenseman of the Week Winner: Tyler Spencer, Estevan Bruins 1991 D Tyler Spencer (Estevan SK) scored two goals and one assist on Saturday night against the Kindersley Klippers as the Bruins rebounded from a tough 2-1 loss the night before against the Melfort Mustangs. Spencer finished the week with four points and was part of a blueline corps that allowed just five goals in three games played. For the season, he has six goals and eight assists in 31 games. Runners-up: Andrew Perrault, Weyburn; Kevin Carpenter, Notre Dame; Dustin Stevenson, La Ronge; Calum MacLeod, Humboldt. Goaltender of the Week Chris Ward, Melfort Mustangs 1989 G Chris Ward (Winnipeg MB) has solidified the netminding position for the Mustangs since arriving in a trade with the MJHL's Swan Valley Stampeders earlier in the season. He had his best week to date over the last seven days, posting a 1-1-0-and-1 record to go with a 1.63-GAA and a .955-SPCT. Ward was especially sharp in Friday's win on the road in Estevan. For the season, he's 7-2-0-and-1, 2.55, .918. Runners-up: Derek Tendler, Estevan; Matthew Smidt, Notre Dame; Chris Neamonitis, Estevan.
