Winner: Chad Filteau, Estevan Bruins 89 F Chad Filteau (Regina SK) tallied four goals and three assists in four games played last week as the Bruins have started to get themselves on track. His big game was on September 30 when he collected two goals and two assists in a win over Notre Dame. For the season, he has seven goals and eight assists in 12 games. Runners-up: Tommy Castonguay & Alex Lamontagne, Flin Flon; Rylan Schwartz, Notre Dame. SJHL Defenseman of the week Winner: Michael Young, Flin Flon Bombers 89 D Michael Young (Chestermere AB) returned from injury layoff to fire two goals and two assists in two games against the Kindersley Klippers this past weekend. He had three of those points in a Friday night win. Young, who is being considered for Canada West at the WJAC, now has seven points in just three games played this season. Runners-up: Brady Wacker, Humboldt; Cris Neurauter, Nipawin; Dustin Stevenson, La Ronge. SJHL Goaltender of the week Winner: David Tetrault, Melfort Mustangs 88 G David Tetrault (Red Deer AB) arrived on the scene for the Mustangs to provide a veteran presence between the pipes after spending the last year and a bit with three different AJHL clubs. He paid immediate dividends by blocking 60 of 63 shots in winning back to back games to give Melfort their first victories of the season. Runners-up: Tommy Legault, Estevan; Tanner Erickson, Weyburn; Graham Hildebrand, Battlefords.
