Player of the Week Dan Conacher, La Ronge Ice Wolves 1989 F Dan Conacher (Calgary AB) had a big week with three goals and three assists in four games played as he helped lead the Ice Wolves to their first ever appearance in the Credit Union Cup finals. Conacher had points in all four games against the Battlefords North Stars, including one goal and one assist in the series clincher on Sunday night. He's had a very good post season, stepping up in the face of team injuries with 11 points in 15 games overall. Runners-up: Doug Lindensmith, La Ronge; Chad Filteau, Battlefords; Marc-Andre Carre, La Ronge; Travis Eggum, La Ronge. Defenseman of the Week Dustin Stevenson, La Ronge Ice Wolves 1989 D Dustin Stevenson (Gull Lake SK) was recently named the SJHL Player Of The Year and his performance in the playoffs to this point further validates that selection. In addition to being a very imposing physical presence, Stevenson continues to make his mark on offense as he led the Ice Wolves with two goals and five assists in four games against the Battlefords North Stars last week. The La Ronge captain will lead his team into the Credit Union Cup finals against Yorkton or Kindersley beginning on Friday night. Runners-up: Blaine Tendler, Yorkton; Johnathan Sonntag, Kindersley; Jordan Braid, Kindersley. Goaltender of the Week Josh Thorimbert, Kindersley Klippers 1992 G Josh Thorimbert (Saskatoon SK) was recently named the SJHL Rookie Of The Year and he may be the MVP of the Klippers so far in the post season. Thorimbert was 2-and-2 last week and posted a 2.73-GAA and even more impressive, a .927-SPCT. Thorimbert maybe saved his best for the final two periods of game six against Yorkton on Sunday when he completely blanked the Terriers through the final 40-minutes and gave his team an opportunity to rally from a two-goal deficit to force game seven. Runners-up: Adam Bartko, La Ronge; Kyle Birch, Battlefords; Devin Peters, Yorkton.
