Lind was named SJHL Player Of The Week for the period ending December 7 and cruised through the entire month with points in eight of the ten games played. He had two goals and two assists in a game played against Notre Dame on December 3rd and had a statistical line that read the same on December 9th in a win over the defending Credit Union Cup champion Humboldt Broncos. Runners-up: Tory Allan, Humboldt; Torrie Dyck, Nipawin; Blake Peake, Battlefords; Preston Shupe, Weyburn. SJHL Defenseman of the Month Winner: Brady Wacker, Humboldt Broncos 1988 D Brady Wacker (Jansen SK) had a fabulous month of December as he not only wins the Defenseman Of The Month Award, but also earned a scholarship to Bemidji State University for next Fall. Wacker, a jack of all trades type on the back end, scored one goal and 17 assists in 10 games played for the Broncos in December. He enters January leading the league in points, an accomplishment all the more impressive based on the fact defensemen do not generally garner as many points as forwards. See 'Goal...' on pg. Continued from pg. Wacker had points in eight of the ten games he played in, sparked by his four point effort on December 3 against Melfort. It's the second straight monthly award for Wacker. Runners-up: Tanner Vandesype, Humboldt; Jesse Lebreton, Battlefords; Tom Kleidon, Battlefords; Dustin Stevenson, La Ronge. SJHL Goaltender of the Month Winner: Devin Peters, Yorkton Terriers 1990 G Devin Peters (St. Anne MB) had a coming out party in late November as a bonafide Junior 'A' starter as a rookie and he continued to marvel through December. Peters led all SJHL puckstoppers with a miniscule 1.40 GAA in the month and also boasted a very impressive .942 SPCT to go along with a 4-1 record as the Yorkton Terriers moved into contention in the top half of the Sherwood Conference. Peters did all of this getting under three goals a game in offensive support. He was named SJHL Goaltender Of The Week twice in a three week span from late-November to early-December. He enters the New Year with a firm grasp on the number one goaltending position for Yorkton and third overall in the SJHL in goals against average. He's also second in save percentage. Runners-up: AJ Whiffen, Weyburn; Travis Bosch, Melville; Matt Weninger, Flin Flon; Ryan Nieszner, Kindersley. SJHL Rookie of the Month Winner: Logan Herauf, Melville Millionaires 1990 F Logan Herauf (Balgonie SK) led all first year Junior 'A' players with five goals and six assists in 10 games played during the month of December. It was a fitting way for Herauf to end his November slump that saw him go the final four games of that month pointless. Herauf stepped up and registered three multiple point games and also hit the scoresheet in six of his last seven games of the month. For the year, Herauf has 15 goals and 19 assists in 36 games. Runners-up: Jaden Schwartz, Notre Dame; Dane Muench, Battlefords; Devin Peters, Yorkton; Alex Lamontagne, Flin Flon; Spencer Braaten, Humboldt.
