SJHL Player of the Month Andrew Dommett, Kindersley Klippers 1990 F Andrew Dommett (Saskatoon SK) has had a breakout season, but he completely exploded during the month of November, scoring 16 goals in just 12 games played and he ended up leading all pointgetters in November with 20. Dommett capped his sensational month with a four-goal effort on November 28 against the Battlefords North Stars during the Showcase. Overall, Dommett has 26 goals and 11 assists in 29 games. He leads the league in goals scored. Runners-up: Deven Stillar, Melfort; Matthew Spafford, Nipawin; Blake Peake, Battlefords; Kyle Ireland, Notre Dame. SJHL Defeseman of the Month Dustin Stevenson, La Ronge Ice Wolves 1989 D Dustin Stevenson (Gull Lake SK) compiled two goals and 10 assists in 14 games during the month of November to lead all SJHL blueliners. Stevenson, who has already committed to St. Lawrence (NCAA) for next Fall, offers an excellent blend of skating, size, physical strength, and offensive capability as a defenseman. For the season, Stevenson has five goals and 23 assists in 31 games. Runners-up: Mike Alexander, La Ronge; Rhys Thomas, Weyburn; Jesse Lebreton, Battlefords; Taylor Thiessen, Nipawin. SJHL Goaltender of the Month Matt Weninger, Flin Flon Bombers 1989 G Matt Weninger (Lethbridge AB) got his season off to a slow start, but he's been firing on all cylinders for the last several weeks and he ends November leading all puckstoppers in all major categories. Weninger went 7-and-1 with a 1.38-GAA and a .957-SPCT. He also had one shutout. That has lowered his overall regular season GAA to 2.13, which leads the league. He's second in SPCT. Runners-up: Russell Abbott, Notre Dame; Andrew Bodnarchuk, Humboldt; Brady Wilyman, Melville; Luke Boechler, Yorkton. SJHL Rookie of the Month Marc-Andre Carre, La Ronge Ice Wolves 1991 F Marc-Andre Carre (Baie Comeau QC) had 10 goals and eight assists in 14 games over the last month to lead all first SJHLers. Carre, who was acquired from the Drayton Valley Thunder of the AJHL earlier in the season, has become a top line player in a hurry for the Ice Wolves. He has 13 goals and 11 assists in 22 games overall. He ended November with points in eight of his last nine games. Runners-up: Trevor Cameron, Notre Dame; Tanner Dusyk, Nipawin; Justin Buzzeo, Humboldt; Chris Daniels, Weyburn; Russell Abbott, Notre Dame.
