This week's MEE Sports - SJHL Player of the Week is awarded to 18 year-old Andrew Gordon of the Notre Dame Hounds. Andrew is a 5'11, 180 lb right winger from Porters Lake, Nova Scotia. During the past week Andrew accumulated four goals and five assists for nine points in four games. He had three power-play goals, one first goal, and one multiple goal game. This helped the Hounds win three of their four games this past week putting them in 5th place in the Sherwood Conference with 54 points, one point behind both Yorkton and Estevan. For the season Andrew has accumulated 19 goals and 37 assists for 56 points and 12 penalty minutes in 50 games. He has eight power-play goals, 13 power-play assists, two short handed goals, four first goals, six first assists, two game winning goals, four game winning assists, two game tying assists, three insurance goals, five insurance assists, and two multiple goal games. Honorable Mention An honorable mention goes to 20 year-old Justin Pesony of the Battlefords North Stars. Justin is a 6', 195 lb goaltender from Lac la Biche, Alberta. Justin had a goals against average this past week of 1.93 facing 104 shots and allowing 6 goals while playing 187 minutes during three games. He had a save percentage of 94.2%. This helped the North Stars win three games and tie one this past week putting them in 2nd place in the Dodge Conference with 74 points. For the season Justin Pesony has played 2727 minutes during 46 games and has a save percentage of 91.9% and a goals against average of 2.44. He has faced 1362 shots allowing 111 goals giving him 28 wins, 13 losses and five ties including three shutouts.
