Winner: Jordan Braid, Kindersley Klippers 1989 Forward Jordan Braid (Saskatoon SK) got the year of with a bang, as he fired six goals and three assists through his teamÕs first four games of the season. He scored three goals and one assist in the season opener against Battlefords on September 12. He also has a four game point scoring streak to start the year. Runners-up: 1992 Forward Jaden Schwartz (Wilcox SK), Notre Dame; 1988 forward Kirk Pearce (Rosetown SK), 1989 forward Aaron Decorby (Melville SK). SJHL Defenseman of the week Winner: Dustin Stevenson, La Ronge Ice Wolves With numerous players gone to graduation, 1989 Defenseman Dustin Stevenson (Gull Lake SK) will be asked to step up and lead La RongeÕs defense. He responded, offensively, with four goals and two assists in four games as the Ice Wolves have gotten of to a very nice 3-1 start. The 6Õ4Ó 210 lbs blueliner plays a clean, physical game and is poised to emerge as one of the loopÕs top defensemen this season. Runners-up: 1988 Defenseman Harley Garrioch (Cross Lake MB), Flin Flon; 1988 Defenseman Shawn Courtney (Kaleden BC), Weyburn; 1988 Defenseman Brady Wacker (Jansen SK), Humboldt. SJHL Goaltender of the week Winner: Travis Bosch, Melville Millionaires 1988 Goalie Travis Bosch (Regina SK) has been assigned the number one goaltender position with the Millionaires and the early return is that Bosch should be consider in the upper echelon at his position, as he backstopped Melville to three surprising victories to start the year. He posted a 1.33 GAA and had a SPCT of .951. Bosch also recorded the first shutout of the season, blanking Estevan on September 13. Runners-up: 1988 Goalie Jordan Barry (Swift Current SK), Yorkton; 1989 Goalie Tanner Schalin (Pine Lake AB), Kindersley; 1988 Goalie Jonathan Jobin (Quebec City PQ), La Ronge.
