This week's MEE Sports - SJHL Player of the Week is awarded to 19 year-old Alex Gagnon of the Humboldt Broncos. Alex is a 5'11, 186 lb goaltender from St. Joeseph de Beuce, Quebec. During the past week, Alex faced 65 shots in two games and allowed only one goal and recorded a shutout against the Battlefords' North Stars. He had a goals against average for the week of 0.50 and a save percentage of 98.5%. This helped the Humboldt Broncos win both their games this week against Battlefords and Kindersley. This gave them 15 points and placed them in second place in the Dodge Conference with three games in hand over Kindersley. For the season, Alex has played 309 minutes in five games and faced 169 shots allowing nine goals and making 160 saves. He has four wins and one tie, a save percentage of 94.7%, a goals against average of 1.75, and one shutout.
