Laury Ryan, President of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, announced this week that the league has hired a new Director of Communications. In a restructuring process, longtime Saskatchewan broadcaster Mitchell Blair of Regina takes over the position from Mike Stackhouse effective immediately. Blair has over 20 years of experience in the radio business and is excited to take the position on. "It will be great working with what I think is the top Junior A hockey league in Canada." Blair said. "The SJHL is one of the many great things about Saskatchewan, and I am looking forward to working with the member teams and getting the SJHL word out across the province and across the country." As for Stackhouse, he is not leaving the SJHL family. Stackhouse, who served as Director of Communications for eight years, will now serve as Coordinator Video Programming and continue to be the play by play voice for the SJHL in the SJHL Game of the Week broadcast throughout the province on Access 7 and streamed by internet on SJHL Web TV. Details of the expanding program will be released shortly. "The league continues to advance in the entertainment offerings to our fans. As the popularity of our game grows so does the demands on the league office." states Ryan, "We now have two experienced broadcasters providing executive leadership to ensure the SJHL continues to be the premier Junior A hockey league in the nation."
