In the SJHL on Wednesday night, the Kindersley Klippers scored three goals in the third period to beat the La Ronge Ice Wolves 7-4. Craig Cromarty and Troy Schwab each had a pair of goals for the Klippers, while Cody Pedersen scored twice for the losers. Kindersley out shot La Ronge 44-29, scoring three power-play goals on nine chances. The Humboldt Broncos scored three times in the third period, but it wasn't enough to get past the Nipawin Hawks, who won by a score of 5-4. Kevin Lavallee had two goals for the Hawks. Shots on net were even at 32-32, and the Broncos scored three of their four goals on the power play. The Notre Dame Hounds blew a 5-1 lead, as the Melville Millionaires scored four unanswered goals in the last seven minutes of the third period to tie the game at 5-5. Two of the goals came in the final minute of play. Dedrick Klassen had the tying goal with two seconds left on the clock, and Adam Thordarson had a pair of third period goals, including a power-play goal at 19:39. Today, Flin Flon visits Nipawin, Battlefords takes on La Ronge in Buffalo Narrows, Melville is at Yorkton and Melfort is in Estevan. Saturday, Flin Flon will be in the Battlefords, Melfort moves to Weyburn, Yorkton is in Melville and Humboldt visits Notre Dame. The Bombers will close a three-game road trip with an afternoon game in Kindersley. Trades Three trades have been reported from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League head office on Wednesday. The Weyburn Red Wings have re-acquired goaltender Brendan Cuthbert from the Melfort Mustangs in exchange for forward Jordan Morgan. The 20-year-old Cuthbert was 1-and-8 with a 4.01-GAA and .901-SPCT this season with the Mustangs. The 6'3", 162 Ibs native of Saskatoon played part of last year with Weyburn and was 5-and-2 with 2.43-GAA and .910-SPCT. Morgan, a 17-year-old native of Regina, is in his first SJHL season and has played 18 games with the Red Wings. He has two goals, two assists, and 56 penalty minutes. Meanwhile, the Flin Flon Bombers have picked up 19-year-old forward Scott Vaughan from the Melfort Mustangs in exchange for two list prospects. It is up to the receiving team (Melfort) as to whether the identity of the list players will be revealed (this could occur at a later date). A native of Melville, the 6'0", 186 Ibs Vaughan has 10 goals and four assists in 22 games with Melfort this season. And, the Nipawin Hawks have acquired 19-year-old forward Scott Klein from the Williams Lake Timberwolves of the BCHL for future considerations. Klein, a 6'0", 185 Ibs product from Swift Current, played 19 games and had one goal, three assists, and 36 penalty minutes in British Columbia.
