The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League is holding a game for 40 players born in 1999. This game will be held in Warman, SK on Sunday afternoon with free admission. The 99 game is held in conjunction with the SJHL Showcase, which will be held in Warman on Monday and Tuesday. President of the SJHL, Bill Chow stated that the 99 game came about from suggestions of the coaches of the SJHL teams. The idea was brought to the AGM and a presentation was made to the Governors of the league. They later went on to approve the idea. The game is strictly an invite only as the coaches utilized their contacts throughout Saskatchewan to develop the list of 40 players born in 1999. The parents of the players were contacted by the coaches and verified their attendance with an invite letter from the League. The concept of the game is to introduce players to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and that the SJHL will provide them with the opportunity to pursue their hockey goals of which direction is of their choice.
