The Kindersley Klippers defeated the Weyburn Red Wings 4-1 Tuesday night to grab a 3-games-to-2 lead in the best of seven MemberCare Cup SJHL final with game six slated for Weyburn on Friday night. The Klippers got two goals from Jesse Fischer in the win and also fired 44-shots at Red Wing goalie Cale Jordison, who was pulled after Fischer notched his second of the game at 6:47 of the third. Kevin Magee finished up in his first action of the postseason. Weyburn opened the scoring as Clayton Bastura scored a shorthanded goal at 5:09 of the first period. The Wings were killing off a five minute major to Ryan Kuntz, who was ejected for hitting Jason Fleck from behind in the opening minute of the game. Steve Matic answered with his first of the playoffs at 9:39 to make it a 1-1 game after one. Justin Wilchynski scored his first of the playoffs in what turned out to be the winner, although Fischer's goal on a 5-on-3 just past the midway point of the second was a backbreaker. Klipper goalie Nathan Deobald made 27-saves in the win.
