The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League entertained close to 11,000 fans on the opening weekend of the 2007-08 regular season. The overall figure of 10,943 represents an increase of 266 from the 2006-07 opening weekend count. The Yorkton Terriers, playing a regular season home opener without raising a Credential Cup banner for the first time in three seasons, led the way with an announced crowd of 1,174. The Terriers and Weyburn Red Wings were responsible for the two biggest single game draws as the Wings brought in 1,086 the next night when they defeated the Terriers 2-1. No fewer than five teams experienced crowds with four digits. Flin Flon had 1,084 for Mike Reagan's first game as a Head Coach, a Bomber win. There was 1,046 in Estevan Saturday night, an increase of 173 from the home opener a season ago. Battlefords had 1,009 in attendance for their overtime loss to the Kindersley Klippers. The fans love winning if Humboldt's spike in opening weekend is any indication. The Broncos had just over 500 for their regular season opener last year, but drew well over 200 more on Friday night against Notre Dame.
