Kelly Carrington Staff Writer Jaden Schwartz made his mark in the SJHL with the Notre Dame Hounds, playing alongside twin brother Rylan. Aging out of the SJHL, Schwartz set his sights even higher as he was named captain of Team Canada for the 2011-12 IIHF World Juniors. Schwartz played two seasons with the Colorado College Eagles in the NCAA Division 1, where Rylan also played. The former Hound a week ago signed an entry level contract with the St. Louis Blues, the team that chose him 14th overall in the 2010 NHL entry draft. The left-winger practiced with the Blues in Chicago last Tuesday but did not dress for that evening's game against the Blackhawks. He was expected to make his NHL debut in Tampa Bay on Saturday, after The Reminder went to press. History Schwartz started with the Midget AAA Notre Dame Hounds in 2007-08. The following season, he joined SJHL's Hounds at the age of 16. The next season saw Schwartz playing for the Tri-City Storm in the USHL. From 2010 to 2012, he made his way to Colorado and was named to Team Canada. Financial terms of the 19-year-old Wilcox, Sask., native's three-year deal with the Blues were not immediately disclosed. 'This opportunity popped up and you can't turn down an opportunity like this,' Schwartz told NHL.com. 'It's a tough decision. Our season (at Colorado College) ended pretty unexpectedly and this opportunity popped up pretty quick. 'I didn't have too much time to think about it, but I wanted to turn pro if the opportunity came. For me, it did and I feel very fortunate.'
