In the SJHL's lone contest on Monday night, the Notre Dame Hounds beat the Weyburn Red Wings 4-1. Matthew Werry had a pair of goals for Notre Dame, while CJ Viso and Paul Geiger added singles. Tyler Mills scored the lone goal for Weyburn on a power play in the first period. The Red Wings went 1/5 on the power play, while Notre Dame scored two power-play goals on ten chances. The game was a make-up game, as their game scheduled for Friday, January 30 had to be moved due to extreme weather conditions in the south. Notre Dame is the hottest team in the Sherwood Conference, winners of their last five games, with a record of 7-2-1 in the last ten games. This has moved them into a tie with the Estevan Bruins for the fourth playoff spot in the Sherwood Conference with 42 points. The Hounds have two games in hand over the Bruins. Notre Dame is also only four points behind Yorkton for third place, with five games in hand over the Terriers.
