In the SJHL on Tuesday night, the Melville Millionaires retained sole possession of first place in the Sherwood Conference with a narrow 6-5 overtime victory over the Battlefords North Stars, who have struggled lately. Melville blew a 5-2 lead before Dedrick Klassen netted the winner in overtime 59 seconds into the extra frame. The teams exchanged goals in the first period, with Matt Stefanishian opening the scoring for the Millionaires at 8:20, and Michael George replying at 12:41 for the North Stars. Stefanishian netted his second of the game at 1:38 of the second period, and Evan Folden gave Melville a 3-1 lead before the end of the period. Jordan Hack made it 4-1 with a power-play goal 58 seconds into the third period, but Dylan Wiltermuth cut the lead to two goals shortly after. Klassen restored Melville's three goal lead at 7:56, but three goals in reply from the North Stars sent the game into overtime. Darryl Lambert, Brock Acorn and Dylan Wiltermuth scored 45 seconds apart to tie the game, before Klassen scored for Melville in overtime.
