In SJHL action on Monday night, the Notre Dame Hounds rebounded from an unsatisfactory effort on the weekend by hammering the league's hottest team, defeating the Estevan Bruins 7-2. Since giving up three goals in the final three minutes of Friday night's tie against the Melville Millionaires, the Hounds have out scored their opponents 14-4. Tyson Hoover led the way with three goals and an assist. Chris Hahn added a pair of goals for the Hounds, while CJ Viso and Jori Dean netted singles. Chris Stubel and Kyle Pellerin had the Estevan goals. Notre Dame out shot Estevan 39-27, scoring two power-play goals on nine chances. Both Bruins goals came with the extra attacker, as they scored twice on five tries. The loss was Estevan's second in their last 16 games. With the win, the Hounds regain top spot in the Sherwood Conference, and have two games in hand over the second place Estevan Bruins.
