In SJHL action on Friday, Michael Clements made 32 saves as the Nipawin Hawks beat the Humboldt Broncos 3-1. Kyle Nichols, TJ Sutter and Jonathon Romic scored for the Hawks, while Arlen Marshall replied for the Broncos. The Battlefords North Stars scored four goals in the second period to beat the La Ronge Ice Wolves 7-2. Derek Keller had four assists for the Stars. Shane Cusack scored twice, while Jesse Matlock, Dylan Wiltermuth, Fraser Allan, Mitch Woods and Jeff Blaquiere all scored singles. Kyle Gladue and Doug Exner had the La Ronge goals. The Yorkton Terriers had an easy time with the Melville Millionaires, beating them 6-2. Andrew Skrabek scored his first goal as a Terrier. Lance Herauf had a pair, while Barry Sparvier, Chris Korchinski and Jason Wagar also tallied. Braden Reiger and Tyler Fletcher scored for the Millionaires. Saturday was another high scoring night, as the Stars pounded the Ice Wolves for the second night in a row, this time 8-3. Eight different Stars scored, and Nathan Zurak had five assists. The Yorkton Terriers scored four unanswered goals in the third period to beat the Melville Millionaires 8-4. Todd Rusnak had a three goal effort, while Andrew Skrabek, Barry Sparvier, Dustin Nehring, Lance Herauf and Chad Nehring added singles. In the only game on Saturday night where the winning team didn't score eight goals, the Kindersley Klippers edged the Nipawin Hawks 4-3. The Klippers spotted the Hawks a three-goal lead before getting a pair of goals each from Josh Sim and Gio Flamminio.1/24/2005
