Joanne and Terri-Lynn Mack of Flin Flon have a passion for triathlon competitions, and they work hard at keeping in shape for what can be a grueling sport. Their hard work recently paid off with both sisters capturing gold medals in a Kids of Steel Triathlon held in The Pas on June 4. Joanne won her medal in the 8-9 age category, which featured a 100m swim, 5km cycle and 1km run. Her sister Terri-Lynn took the top spot in the 12-13 girls category, which featured a 200m swim, 10km cycle and 2km run. The sisters are eager to test their skills this weekend at the Kids of Steel Triathlon in Flin Flon. The event gets underway at the Aqua Centre this Sunday, June 12, beginning with the swimming portion at 4:30 p.m., with competitors then moving onto the cycling and jogging routes.
