Kelly Carrington Staff Writer It took only one shot as Landon Hiebert scored the game-winning goal for the Bombers in overtime as they were in Humboldt last Wednesday night. Tied at 3-3 at the end of regulation time, the Bombers and Broncos faced off for the five-minute period _ ending at 3:33 with a 4-3 Bomber win. Taking the only shot in the overtime period, Hiebert goal was the game winner _ helping the Bombers end a two-game losing streak. Hiebert was a part of the Bombers' first goal of Wednesday's game as he and linemate Jesse Mysiorek passed the puck along to Konrad Litke for the opening marker. Sitting up 1-0 at 5:41, the lead didn't last too long as Bronco Emirk Guillemette tied the game at 11:20 as he snuck one past Bomber goaltender Devin Buffalo. With the game sitting at 1-1, Brandt Weldon was on top of things in the second period with a pair of goals against the Broncos _ the first coming in at :37 and his second at 5:04. Between goals, the Broncos tied the game once more as Robbie Cioifi earned his lone goal of the night. Tied once again, Weldon's second goal of the night gave the Bombers the 3-2 lead over the 2012 RBC host team, this time with help from Riley Storzuk and Brett Penner. Overtime Keeping the lead for the remainder of the second period and the majority of the third, the Bombers and Broncos were sent into overtime as Guillemette scored his second of the night, making it 3-3 at 16:49. The teams prepared for overtime as they ended regulation time with 22 shots on net for the Broncos and 18 for the Bombers. Previous to Wednesday's game, the Bombers had dropped two straight games, one to the Yorkton Terries and the other to the Nipawin Hawks, on their four-game road trip. Coming home tied 2-2, with a win in Melville to start the trip, the Bombers welcomed the Battlefords North Stars for a double-header this past weekend at the Whitney Forum. The Bombers last saw the North Stars on Jan. 3, in Battleford, where the home team earned a 4-3 shootout win over the Bombers.
