It really shouldn't snow at Phantom Lake on June 23rd, but waiting to tee off on #7 the snow flakes kept falling upon us. It shows we are really enthusiastic about the game, devoted to the game or something else. However, all of the 37 seniors who started finished their round in spite of rain, sleet, snow and the cold north wind. Two foursomes tied for top in group play, with five earned points, George Komanac, Paul Warga, Al Brown, Bob McKay and Ted Baumgartner, Bob Quinn, Hugh Howat, Terry Lofgren. Second with four points, Bryan Dixon, Al Mills, Dave Negrych and Ron Bailey. Third with three points were Dan Hamilton, Joe Hamilton from Kelowna, Rick Feere from Dawson Creek and Ken Allen. Fourth with zero points were Ron Watt, Bev Baker, Dennis Anderson and Rick Switzer. Low gross for the day was a 40 by Ron Wiebe and low net score was 31 by Bev Baker. The loonie pot was won by Ted Baumgartner with a deuce and Barry Smith got the longest putt on #8. Some 25 of our seniors played in the Seniors Tournament at The Pas on Monday June 21. Barry Smith won the Champion Flight with a score of 78. Ron Wiebe was third in that flight. Other prize winners were Red Nelson, Doug Anderson and Glen Campbell. Our next seniors scramble, and hopefully in warmer weather will be on June 30th. First foursome off the blue tees at 8 a.m.
