The morning was cool and comfortable for the 50 seniors who turned out for our annual breakfast on Wednesday. The club room was filled with the good smell of bacon and sausages prepared by the concession staff. A great breakfast was enjoyed by all. Golf was pretty good too. Bill Martinot and Metro Lekopoy tied for the low gross with 38 and Ed Martin took low net with a net score of 31. The loonie pot on #6 was won by Ted Baumgartner with a chip in from off the green and Kirk Huntley made the longest putt on #8 with a 20 footer. Two foursomes tied at three points for the most points earned, Kirk Huntley, Harold Carr, Jack Streitle, Brian Bortis and Hugh Howat, Harold Harris, Marv Dowhan, Bev Baker. Three foursomes tied for second with one earned point, Gerry Nomeland, Wayne Chamberlin, Ed Martin, Stan Curtis and Jim Russell, Art McKeen, Al Bhatt, Metro Lekopoy and Doug Ormiston, Bill Martinot, Don McLaren,Rick Switzer. Next with zero points were Ron Thorley, Ted Steventon, Barry Smith and George Komanac. At minus three points another three foursomes were tied, Paul Warga, Ron Watt, Cam Wilson, Sandy Ernest and Dale Powell, Ken Reader, Tom Edwards, Bert Graves and Merle Sproxton, Grant Adams, Dave Negrych, Doug Anderson. The rest of us were contributers. The Snow Lake Seniors Golf Tournament is on Wednesday September 1st. Since a number of our golfers will be there our next Seniors Scramble will be on Tuesday, August 31. The Clubhouse will open at 8 a.m. so first foursome off the #1 tee at 9 a.m.
