Somebody mentioned that it was only plus 5 when 32 seniors teed off on Wednesday. And with the strong north wind it was great that 32 seniors showed up. If it was cold outside the atmosphere amongst the golfers was warm and friendly. Paul Warga chipped in out of the front sand trap for a deuce and took the lonnie pot and Stan Curtis made a 20' putt on #8 to take that prize. Doug Anderson won the low gross with a 39 and also the low net score with a net 29. The top foursome of the day with four points earned were Red Nelson, Waly Ariko, Stan Curtis and Garnet Wheeler. Second with one point were, Sandy Ernest, Bev Baker, Metro Lekopoy and Paul Warga. Third best and minus two points were Jack Chrisp, Ron Atkinson, Tom Iannone and Harold Carr. Fourth and minus three points were Lorne Butcher, Barry Smith, Brian Row and Doug Anderson. Fifth and minus four points were Al Mills, Cam Wilson, Ron Thorley and Dave Negrych. Don't forget our Annual Seniors Breakfast next Wednesday August 25 at 8 a.m. We all enjoy a full breakfast prepared by the concession staff and then tee off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost of the scramble and breakfast for our seniors is $4. Come and sign up early.
