It was a busy time for some of our seniors last week. On Monday, June 20, there were 30 men and women from the Phantom Lake Golf Course who participated in The Pas Seniors Golf competition, with a number of them winning prizes. Then, nine members from the men's seniors travelled on to Neepawa to participate in the MSOS competitions. In the 9-hole competition on Tuesday, Barry Smith won gold, Norm Fox won silver and Bryan Dixon won bronze in thier age group. Then, on Wednesday, Barry Smith again won gold in the 18-hole competition. Back home atÊPhantom Lake on Wednesday, June 22, 43 senior men turned out on a great morning for our regular scramble. The loonie pot on #6 was won by Jack Larssen and Garnet wheeler had a 28-foot putt on #8 for the best of the morning. Low Gross was again won by Ron Wiebe Êwith a 37 and Alex Lekopoy won the net score with a net 29.ÊÊÊ In foursome play the group of Ron Thorley, Ron Wiebe Glen Campbell and Doug Anderson were tops. In second place Alex Lekopoy, Gil Labarre, Dick Berthiaume and Stan Curtis. In third place Merle Sproxton, Bob Quinn, Dan Hamilton and Ron Bailey. In fourth place, Bert Graves, Brian Row and Ken McKay. Fifth and sixth places were tied by Bob McKay, Lorne Buthcher, Jack Larssen, Terry Grindle and Rick Switzer, Grant Adams, Al Brown, Ted Steventon.
