Another great morning for the 50 senior golfers who turned out for our regular golf scramble on Wednesday, July 13. And a good number of visitors coming back to enjoy a few holes of golf at Phantom Lake. We welcomed Art McKeen, Tom Ianone, Ted Hampson, Mel Brough and Maurice Comeau. Great to have them join us for the morning. Cam Wilson chipped in from off the green to win the loonie pot while George Komanac sunk a 34' putt to win the longest putt competition on #8. Low gross for the day was Bill Martinot with a 38 and Garnet Wheeler was Low Net winner with a net 32. In foursome play the best group performance was a plus seven by Ron Watt, Ken McKay, Tom Edwards, Bert Graves and Bill Eastman. Second with two points, Red Nelson, Barry Smith, Bob McKay and Jim Russell. Third with one point, Ron Bailey, Ron Thorley, Doug Anderson and Metro Lekopoy. Three groups tied for fourth place, Tom Ianone, Doug Ormiston, Waly Ariko, Bev Baker and Bob Russell, Ted Baumgartner, Garnet Wheeler, Alex Lekopoy and Jim Conner, Dick Berthiaume, Bill Martinot, Lee Fisher, Gord Redahl. Last place with minus 3 points Dan Hamiton, Bryan Dixon, Hugh Howat and Cal Hammond. Our Wednesday Seniors Championship will start this Wednesday. The draw, with a few rules, will be posted in the Club House. We will try to complete a Main Event and a consolation draw so please try to complete your matches on time. Our next seniors scramble will be on Wednesday, July 20. First foursome off #1 tee about 7:45 a.m.
