Jonathon Naylor Editor The search for a new SJHL president is coming down to the wire. Rick Shultz, chair of the league's board of governors, told the Regina Leader Post last week that the list of candidates has been narrowed down to two. "We're just in the process of trying to figure out a contract [with the first choice]," he said. Shultz told the newspaper that the board wants "someone who will promote the league and be a people person" Ð and "he's got to have some business sense and hockey sense." He added that he hoped to have the new president in place by the first weekend of June, when the league will hold its annual general meeting. After eight years as president, Laury Ryan announced in March that he would be stepping down. "It has been an honour to represent the league on behalf of so many great individuals who work tirelessly in their respective communities to make their franchises viable and successful," Ryan said in a statement at the time. "Any and all the good things that were achieved are a testament to their efforts."
