Volleyball
Young athletes from regional schools took part in a junior high volleyball tournament at École McIsaac School last weekend.
Five boys’ teams and 10 girls’ teams participated in total, with teams coming from McIsaac, Creighton Community School, Joseph H. Kerr School in Snow Lake, Scott Bateman Middle School in The Pas and OCN’s Oscar Lathlin Collegiate.
Scott Bateman defeated Oscar Lathlin to take the boys’ title.
In the girls’ final, Joseph H. Kerr played McIsaac Team 3, with the Snow Lake team coming out on top.
“The tournament featured great sportsmanship, many tightly contested matches and a high level of skill from a large number of the developing players,” said Flin Flon School Division assistant superintendent Dean Grove.
