The Melfort Mustangs will be sending two players to Mercyhurst in the Fall of 2006. Defenseman, Matt Fennell, born in 1986 and 1985 born forward Nick Vandenbeld have both made commitments to the Lakers, who are the defending AHA champions in the NCAA. Fennell, 6-0 185 pounds from Melfort SK, is an offensively gifted defenseman who has nine goals and 16 assists in 20 games this season to lead all SJHL blueliners in scoring.Ê He has eight power-play goals and 18 power-play points.Ê He is in his third SJHL season and entered the year with 115 SJHL games under his belt with 13 goals and 42 assists.
