This weekend, the Uptown Curling Club will be the scene of the District 13 zone playoffs to send a representative to the provincials in Steinbach in February. The winner in will have the honour of representing the province in the upcoming Tim Horton's Brier Playdowns in Regina in March. Playing out of the Uptown Curling Club will be the Blaine Gogal, Ed Sattleberger, Craig Craig, Grant McLuckie, Tony Flynn and Dale Connelly teams. Representing Willow Park will be the Don Holmes foursome as well as two rinks from The Pas and one from Snow Lake. The first draw will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon, January 13, with two games. Then that evening at about 7:30 (after the general meeting and banquet), there will be a full draw. On Saturday, January 14, there will be three draws at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, January 15 will see a game at 9 a.m., with the finals on the B side at 12:30 p.m. and, if necessary, the A-B final will take place at 4 p.m. All action will take place at Uptown Curling Club... see you there!
