The 28th Annual Roller Goodwin Memorial Classic hockey tournament returns to Flin Flon the August long weekend 2004. The prestigious tournament has confirmed 14 teams including two exhibition games by the 1957 Memorial Cup Jr. Bombers. This will be the largest participation ever as the family team angle continues to drive the tournament. New family teams include the Quinns, the Johnsons, and the Mckees/Cosgroves. A new addition will also be a reunion of Kritzers' Bantams. Other family teams will include the Crones, the McIntyres, the Iannones, and the Davidsons. Returning will be the star studded Winnipeg Kanooks, Willowvale Bunk Black Hawks with their fancy uniforms, Frank Stewart and his Calgary Ramada Bombers, Wayde Lowe and his Illegal Rocks, Stu's All Stars and his assortment of grinders. All games will be held at the Whitney Forum starting Friday, July 29, Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, August 1. There will be a beer gardens at the Uptown Curling Rink during the duration of the tournament with a meet and greet at the same location on Friday evening. There will be a banquet/social Sunday, August 1 at the Flin Flon Community Hall. The tournament is open and all are welcome to the games and social events, come on out and see what all the fuss is about.
