Submitted by SJHL Josh Roach continues his reign as one of the top blueliners in the SJHL with another Defenseman of the Week nod. Teammate Brett Boehm picked up the Rookie of the Week honour for his work with the Flin Flon Bombers. SJHL Player of the Week Adam Antkowiak, Humboldt Broncos 1992 F Adam Antkowiak (Medicine Hat AB) fired four goals and four assists in three games played last week to lead all SJHL players and his imposing physical size is really starting to translate into numbers on the score sheet. Antowiak began the week with three helpers in a 7-2 thumping over Yorkton, and then scored twice and set up another last Friday night in a 5-2 win over La Ronge. One night later, he scored two more against the Ice Wolves in a 5-2 decision. For the season, he has 17 goals and 24 assists to move into the top 15 in the league. Defenseman of the Week Josh Roach, Flin Flon Bombers Another week and another weekly nod as the top defenseman for 1992 D Josh Roach (Saskatoon SK), who should be the runaway winner for the SJHL Defenseman Of The Year award as well. Roach scored a goal and six assists in four road games this past week and is now just one point away from leading the entire league in scoring for the season. Roach had assists in back to back games Tuesday in Melville and Wednesday in Notre Dame. He picked up a goal and two assists on Friday in Estevan and then two more helpers Saturday at Weyburn. Rookie of the Week Brett Boehm, Flin Flon Bombers 1994 F Brett Boehm (Saskatoon SK) showed nice consistency in four road games for the Bombers last week as he had single points in each contest. He finished with a goal and three helpers, with his lone tally coming on Tuesday in Melville, a game in which he appeared to be a threat to score from anywhere on the ice on just about every shift. He ended the week with assists at Notre Dame, Estevan, and Weyburn. With 20 goals and 23 assists in 40 games, he leads the league in rookie scoring and is 8th overall amongst all players. Goaltender of the Week Dawson MacAuley, Yorkton Terriers 1994 G Dawson MacAuley (Prince Albert SK) won both of his starts by shutout last week as the Yorkton Terriers continue their home ice dominance. He made 30 saves last Friday night against the Melfort Mustangs and then blocked 21 in a Saturday blanking of the Kindersley Klippers. MacAuley has had an odd month in that he's won three games and allowed a total of zero goals in each appearance. But, he's also allowed 13 goals in his three losses. Nevertheless, he's 10-and-5 overall with a 2.28-GAA (3rd in the league) and a .916-SPCT.
