If you build it, they will help. That's the concept that Flin Flon Parks and Recreation have been putting into action over the last few years. If neighbourhoods are wanting improvements to their outdoor rinks, the Rec. Board has offered to work together with them by providing the materials, as long as the neighbourhood provides the volunteers. Most recently, the bunk on Prince Charles Place received a facelift, thanks to Flin Flon Parks and Recreation and the local area volunteers who provided the workforce. "By working together, we accomplish the goal of improving opportunities for people in our community," said Brenda Russell, recreation director. "Parks and Recreation appreciates the efforts of groups such as this, and would encourage other groups to get involved." Over the past couple years, the outdoor rinks in the Flin Flon Trailer Court and the one on South Hudson have also benefitted from this arrangement.
