The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced that import quarterback Graham Harrell has signed a two-year plus an option contract with the club. Financial details were not released. The Texas Tech standout set an NCAA Division 1 record by throwing 134 touchdown strikes during his college career. The 24 year-old also holds the NCAA record for completions in a season with 512, which he set in 2007 and is also the only quarterback in U.S. college football history to twice amass over 5,000 yards passing in a season. After his 2008 season, Harrell was presented with the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award for the top senior quarterback and was fourth in the race for the Heisman Trophy. He was also a finalist for the Espy Award for the NCAA's top football player.
