Conditions were ideal for Sunday's Revival Loppet. The track was firm and fast and the temperature a balmy Ð7 degrees. The 17 participants included one visitor from Prince Albert and four members of the Creighton Kodiaks Ski Team. Five skiers completed the three-lap (18 kilometre) course. The fastest was Nyall Oberg in a time of 1:18:18. The fastest Junior male over the one lap (7.5 kilometre) course was Troy Dease (59:18), and the fastest junior female was Kristal Kawa (1:05:07). Fastest senior male over the one-lap course was Ron Horn from Prince Albert (46:53), while the fastest senior female was promising ski racer Brenda Russell (1:06:03). The youngest participant was eight-year-old Isaac Dufour-Jarvis, who finished the one lap course a remarkably close one second ahead of his dad, Bob, in a time of 1:47:51. There were a lot of smiling faces in the Chalet following the event Ð in part due to the excellent food supplied by concession staff, led by Ski Club president Bonnie Tinker. The Ski Club is very grateful to all the volunteers who contributed to the success of this event. The next big event for the Club is the 31st annual Centaloppet which will start at 2 p.m. on Ross Lake Sunday February 19. 8/2/06
