The warm summer sunshine made the Relay for Life night even more successful. Families, teams registered in the Relay for Life, and interested residents stopped by Rotary Park last Thursday evening, June 20. Guests gathered around for a hot dog barbecue, activities, information, and fun as the fundraiser generated both funds and interest for the upcoming Relay. The September 7 event will be the second time held in the Flin Flon area as it will be at the Creighton ball diamond. To date, over $22,000 has been raised for this year's Relay for Life and 19 teams are registered. Throughout the year teams have been holding their own fundraising events such as barbecues, walks, and bracelet sales, to name a few. Thursday night's event was held by the Relay For Life committee as members barbecued and manned the parachute and other toys. On top of the food sales and other purchases to be made the event held a 50/50 draw, which saw Margot Gray as the lucky winner. The kickoff event was attended by roughly 150 people and generated between $350 and $400 for the September event.
