Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Humboldt Broncos and Weyburn Red Wings are fighting for the SJHL title, the Canalta Cup. The Broncos look an early lead in the series with a 4-3 overtime win over the Red Wings last Friday night, March 30, on home ice. The tables turned for the second game as the Red Wings defeated the home team 4-2. Game 3 of the best-of-seven series is set for tomorrow night in Weyburn. The Broncos represent the Bauer Conference as they defeated the La Ronge Ice Wolves and Battlefords North Stars to get to the final. The Red Wings earned the title of the Sherwood Conference after defeating the Estevan Bruins and the Melville Millionaires. If all seven games are needed in the series, the Red Wings and Broncos will finish on April 15. The Anavet Cup is scheduled to begin April 16. The winner of the SJHL series will take on the winner of the MJHL. In the Manitoba league, the Portage Terriers led the Winnipeg Saints after Game 1.
