Trialthon cancelled Due to a lack of interest this year's triathlon and duathlon have been cancelled. They were supposed to take place at the Flin Flon Aqua Centre on Sunday. Summer in the parks! Just a reminder that Summer in the Parks is still available for children between the ages of five and nine. Sunny weekday afternoons are pent at the Willowvale Park on the playground and in the spray pool. Activities are moved inside for rainy days. Filed trips take place throughout the week and crafts are done on Wednesdays. The camp will run until the end of August. For more information or to register, contact Kyla Jackson at 681-7542. Tips to improve your form and speed when swimming Try to swim at least three swims a week. Swimmers seem to improve faster and easier when they swim more frequently as opposed to only doing a few longer workouts each week. Maintain the best possible technique at all speeds during a workout. Incorporate drills to help you stay tuned up, increase your speed and develop a better technique. One or two times a week increase the intensity of your work out. Make sure you don't overexert yourself. If you feel too fatigued, take a rest. Each workout does not need to be an intense one. Remember to have fun. When you stop enjoying yourself, practice becomes more difficult. You should always do things the same way. Once you begin to do things the techniques the same way, they will become automatic. You should use the same technique to leave the wall, swim and turn the same way each time. Wear a swimsuit made for competitive swimming.
