Skiing Fundraiser To complete fundraising for its new Skandic trail machine, the Flin Flon Ski Club will host its Skiathon 2006 on Saturday, Dec. 30 at the club lodge, valley loop. The event will run from 1-4 p.m. You can pick up pledge sheets at the Ski Chalet, Creighton Community School, or Dembinsky's. Collect pledges based on a lump sum or number of laps completed around the 2.3-km valley loop. Based on your ability, one lap may take between 15 and 30 minutes. The trail will be groomed and is easily skied by a novice. The chalet will offer free hot dogs and hot chocolate. If you wish to remain on the trail, please carry water and/or an energy bar with you. This is not a race, but an opportunity for young and old, novice and expert to come and enjoy the day and show support for the ski club. Once pledges have been collected, they may be turned into Al Ritch at Creighton Community School or Duane Davis at the ski club. Call Duane at 688-4871 for more information.
