Flin Flon Park and Recreation Adult badminton will be taking place on Thursday nights from 7-9:30 p.m. at McIsaac School. This is for people 17 and over and started yesterday. Adult volleyball takes place on Tuesday evenings from 8-10 p.m. at Creighton school and is also for people 17 and up. This began on Jan. 10 Bench Step Aerobics will begin Jan. 18 from 7-8 p.m. at McIsaac school. Those interested must pre-register at the Aqua Centre for full session and there must be a minimum of eight people registered for program to be offered. Aqua Fitness started Jan.10 and will run five days a week. On Tuesday and Thursday, it will take place from 10-11 a.m. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday it will take place in the evening from 8-9 p.m. These classes started Jan. 2 Flin Flon Ski Club On Tuesday evening (January 17), instructors from Saskatchewan's 'Ski Fit North' program will be offering waxing demonstrations, followed by on-snow instruction for beginning to intermediate skiers from 6:30-9:00pm. This clinic is free, and tips will be offered on both traditional and skate skiing. There will be 'Moms & Tots' skiing each Friday from 9:00-11:00 am. A couple of moms will be at the Chalet to look after the tots while the other moms head out for a bit of skiing Ð check with Kara (687-8521) or Bonnie (687-4263) for information. On Saturday (January 21) there will be a Family Ski Day. Come out for a ski around 3:00 p.m. Ð Club members will be on hand to offer some basic ski instruction. There will be a pot-luck supper at 6:00 p.m., followed by a poker derby on skis. On Sunday (January 22), there will be a ski tour around the Carlisle loop Ð distance about eight kilometers Ð departing from the Chalet at 1:30 p.m. Call Dave (687-8653) for information. Starting January 24, there will be a 'Sociable Ski' each Tuesday evening, starting from the Chalet at 8:00 p.m. - everybody welcome. Anyone planning to rent skis can do so by contacting Bob (687-3764) or any other member of the executive Ð but please give about 24 hours notice. Skiers can pay their membership dues at Dembinsky's on Main Street, or put their daily trail fees in the trail-side box next to the parking area.
