Gone Fishing! It's that time of year again when anglers start dreaming of the 'big one' that WON'T get away! Fishing season opens this Saturday, May 21, in our region. So, dig out that favorite hook, or go and check out all the new lures that are in our area stores (and all the amazing new stuff that will help add to a more enjoyable experience). Remember to be a safe boater, respect the rules of the sport, and share your experience with the younger generation who love to explore the bush and lakes. Be SAFE and have FUN! Hit the Links! For those of us who love to hit a golf ball around the Phantom Lake Golf Course, another fine season of golfing is underway. Contact the course (688-5555) for any upcoming tournaments or special events, or just to get a tee-time. Get involved with Men's Nights and Ladies' Nights, and the Seniors events. And try to help get some younger folks out to enjoy this great sport. There's nothing quite like teeing up your ball on the first tee, waiting for the onlookers to quiet down, and then smacking a drive to the foot of the green. Which goes to prove, we can all dream! Even if your ball bounces off the rocks in front of the tee and zings into the bush (with silence from the crowd, of course) don't let it get you down, there's still LOTS of STROKES left to enjoy the day with. Don't take yourself too seriously (nobody else does) and you'll have lots of fun this summer. See you on the course. Hi There Want your rec event mentioned in our column? Phone 687-3454.
