Submitted by SJHL The Notre Dame Hounds clinched a playoff spot and mathematically eliminated the Kindersley Klippers in the process, coming from behind to down the Klippers 6-5. Todd Christian scored his team-best 23rd of the season and added one assist. Mitch Boucher and Brandon Millin each had a goal and a helper as well. Troy Murray and Ben Morgan rounded out the scoring. Defenseman David Haaf scored twice for the Klippers (11-38-3-1), who also got goals from Bradley Buckingham, Travis Geislinger and Justin Lund. The Hounds (18-30-0-3) know they'll finish in 5th place in the Sherwood Conference, and play in the Survivor Series against whoever finishes fourth. * * * The Yorkton Terriers stayed hot, beating the visiting Battlefords North Stars 4-2. Brady Norrish, Ryon Sookro, Zak Majkowski, and Jeremy Johnson scored for the Terriers, who are now a Sherwood Conference best 7-1-1-1 in their last 10 games. The North Stars (37-13-0-2) got goals from Kyle Hall and Travis Sparrow, and missed a chance to pull even with Humboldt for the Bauer Conference lead. They're still two points back and now even in games played. The Terriers (29-19-2-3) remain three points up on Melville for 2nd place, and are now nine points clear of fourth place Estevan. * * * The Melville Milionaires kept pace with Yorkton, and also distanced themselves a little from Estevan, as they went on the road and beat Weyburn 5-2. Jesse Mireau scored twice, Tyson Newell had a goal and an assist, giving the league's leading scoring defenseman 50 points, while John Stechyshyn and Connor Lowe-Wylde also scored. Lane Harbor and Miguel Pereira found the net for the Red Wings (35-16-1-1), who still have not locked up the Sherwood Conference pennant. The Millionaires (26-18-4-4) are six points up on Estevan for the final spot in the top three, and still three back of Yorkton for 2nd.
