It’s been a busy week off the ice for Mike Reagan and the Flin Flon Bombers, as they completed three trades as of Wednesday.
Not waiting for the trade deadline to make a big move, head coach and GM Reagan is clearly making a push to bring a championship to Flin Flon.
First, the Bombers traded Erik Pedersen closer to home to the Whitecourt Wolverines of the AJHL in exchange for forward Brandon Switzer.
Switzer has nearly been a point-per-game player for the Wolverines so far this season with 21 points in 22 games.
The Brandon native played his midget AAA hockey with the Wheat Kings, accumulating 112 points in 119 career games.
The Bombers then added Sundre, Alberta’s Adam Beukeboom from the AJHL’s Grand Prairie Storm for future considerations.
Beukeboom is a 6’0, 190-lb goaltender with both AJHL and WHL experience.
Not done yet, Flin Flon made a second deal with the Wolverines, sending Lance Yaremchuk there in exchange for Switzer’s linemate, Joel Kocer.
Kocer is a 19-year-old forward from Edson, Alberta. He had 17 points in 22 games so far this season.
Yaremchuk had only played in three games for the Bombers since being reassigned by the Prince George Cougars of the WHL.
