The Flin Flon Bombers hosted Canada's national Junior A hockey championship in 2001 and the event will be back in Manitoba in 2015. Portage La Prairie will be hosting the RBC Cup in the coming seasons as the tournament will make its way back to Manitoba for the fifth time. Dauphin was one of the earlier City's to host the RBC as they welcomed players in 2009. Portage will welcome teams from across the country in the next few seasons as the May tournament will showcase the best-of-the-best. The Portage Terriers, of the MJHL, will serve as the host team during the RBC Cup. The Terriers and four regional representatives will face-off for the 45th RBC Cup. 'There are few tournaments in Canada with the history and prestige of the RBC Cup, and we could not be more excited to be going to Portage la Prairie for the 2015 event,' said Hockey Canada president Bob Nicholson in a news release. 'The Terriers have a proud junior A tradition, and we know the organization and the city will do a first-class job hosting the nation's top teams,' Nicholson was quoted. Along with Flin Flon and Dauphin, the tournament has been hosted in Winnipeg in 1992 and then shared duties between Winnipeg and Brandon in 1973. The 2014 RBC Cup is scheduled for Vernon, BC.
