The SJHL Source Embroidery power rankings for Oct. 6:

1. Notre Dame Hounds (6-0): They seem to be getting better with each victory.

2. Flin Flon Bombers (4-1-1-1): They lead the league by a wide margin in goals scored.

3. Melfort Mustangs (4-1-0-1): Despite being unbeaten in regulation in their last five, they tinkered with their goaltending last week.

4. Battlefords North Stars (4-1-1): Like the Mustangs, unbeaten in five, after that season opening loss.

5. Kindersley Klippers (2-0-0-1): Easy to forget about them as they’ve played just once since opening weekend.

6. Nipawin Hawks (3-1): The Hawks have, quietly, strung together three straight victories.

7. La Ronge Ice Wolves (2-3-1-1): Saturday night’s bombing in Flin Flon dampers what’s been a decent start.

8. Estevan Bruins (2-4): They’ve earned a split in their last four as they start to look comfortable.

9. Humboldt Broncos (2-4-1): They’ve added veteran in help in goal and they responded with a good offensive showing against Yorkton on Saturday.

10. Melville Millionaires (3-3-0-1): They moved out three goals and brought in two more, but it’s scoring that has been the issue as they are winless in four.

11. Yorkton Terriers (2-3-0-1): No wins since opening weekend and maybe rock bottom after embarrassing showing against Humboldt.

12. Weyburn Red Wings (1-5): Hard to call game six of the season a must-win, but the Wings needed to get in the win column and did.

Who’s hot?

Two Bombers, Austin Calladine and Alex Smith, have made this week’s “who’s hot?” list for the SJHL.

Calladine has four goals and four assists in four games, while Smith has one goal and four assists in two games.

Also making the list were Kris Spriggs of Nipawin, Ryan Aubertin of Humboldt, Jack Burgart of Weyburn, Brock Hamm of Humboldt and Alexi Thibaudeau of Notre Dame.
